PROGRAM FAQ’s
What ages are your programs for?
Currently, we run programs for children ages 4-11. Please contact us if you are unsure which program is best suited for your child. We are glad to discuss this and figure it out with you!
What is the registration process?
Once you select and purchase your spot in a program you will receive an email confirmation and a short enrollment form to help us best prepare for your child’s participation in the program.
Will there be food/snacks available?
We do not provide food; however, we do have many coffee shops and restaurants within a 200 meter radius with healthy options for your children.
What should my child bring on the first day?
We are well stocked with all the materials your child will need for our program, but please note the short list in the enrollment form of a few special items we will be inviting your child to bring to the first day.
Am I allowed to stay during the class time?
We have purposefully created engaging content for your children that is long enough to give you an opportunity to grab a coffee, do your grocery shopping or just take a nap in the car if you need too! Please drop off your children and pick them once the class is done.
What if I miss a class?
Although we encourage attendance at every class we understand if there is a missed class due to unforeseen circumstances. We will be running the program concurrently in the afternoon and in the evening. Please contact S + S if you are unable to make a class and we will see if there are possibilities to have you attend the same class at a different time. Alternatively, if you contact us in advance we can record the class for you so that you can work through it at your own pace at home!
How many kids are in each class?
We cap all our classes at 8 kids to maximize the participation of all children.
Can I opt out of my child taking photos?
Yes! Absolutely. Please indicate this on your enrollment form.
What if I can’t pick up my child on time?
We understand that life happens and you do their best to get your children on time. We have a grace period of 15 minutes for pick up before we will try to contact you to make sure you are on your way. If you are more than 15 minutes behind schedule we will charge you for after-program care at $40/hour for a maximum of an hour.
DROP-IN FAQ’s
Is it “ok” for me to bring my baby/ toddler to the drop-in?
Yes! We’re parents, so we get it! Please feel free to come with your toddlers or babies to the drop-in. We are equipped with high chairs for eating and a quiet space for breastfeeding mamas. It is important however that you know that there is no ECE on hand to babysit toddlers and babies so they will have to be in the care of their parents at all times.
Will you watch my homeschooling kids if I need to duck out for a brief moment?
We are currently not staffed to be able to provide this service. However, we can certainly keep an eye on your children should you need to go use the washroom or breastfeed in our quiet space. Basically, as long as you stay at Sage and Savant, we have your back!
MONEY FAQ’s
Do you offer discounts?
Yes we do! We have a 15% sibling discount and we also have a refer a friend program that gives you $20 off when a friend indicates your name on the first timer form. We also offer limited scholarship options. Please e-mail us to discuss this further.
Do you have payment plans?
Please contact us if you would like a payment plan. We are willing to work with you to ensure that your child can participate in our programs.
What is your cancellation and refund policy?
Cancellations are allowed up to the end of the first week of class for a refund minus a $35 administration charge. Any cancellations done after the cancellation deadline will not be entitled to a refund; however, a full credit will be issued towards participation in any of our future programs.
OTHER IMPORTANT FAQ’s
Emergency Closure
If your class is going to be cancelled, it will only be done in case of an emergency or bad weather conditions. You will receive notice as soon as it is decided and a make-up class will be arranged.
IN CASE OF EMERGENCY
All of our staff will be trained on emergency procedures. In case of an emergency, the studio will be evacuated and the children will gather on the South East Corner of Shaw and Dundas St West in the Trinity Bellwoods Park in the summer, or in the Trinity Bellwoods Community Center Foyer in the Winter.
ALLERGIES INFORMATION
Sage and Savant is a nut-free and scent-free environment. We will do the best we can to limit any other allergen exposure. It is a parents responsibility to ensure that their children’s allergy information is filed with sage + savant. Please make sure that your child’s allergy medication or backpack is clearly labelled so that in the event of an emergency it can be easily and quickly identified and used.
